Concerns about young people using chatbots for companionship have caught the attention of parents, advocates and lawmakers. As of December 10, 2025, Australia implemented a world-first, legally enforced ban preventing children under 16 from holding accounts on major social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Snapchat, and YouTube. The policy places the onus on platforms to take "reasonable steps" to prevent access or face fines up to $49.5 million. Many states are starting to ban phones in school. What policy do you think states, districts, or schools should adopt regarding the use of AI?
